Blue Vinyl
Blue Vinyl is an installation consisting of sound, architecture, and five iris prints. A blue vinyl love seat serves as a ground or backdrop for an exploration of intimate play. Pulling taffy while inhabiting this love seat is the source of the video recording from which the iris prints are generated. The stills are stretched, reduced, and repositioned in an attempt to locate a two dimensional reference to private space. The audio component emanating from the padded interior suggests an alluring but unrecognizable activity.
