Skin
The video installation Skin includes a padded room with two video monitors embedded in adjacent walls at average eye height. The interior walls, ceiling, and floor are covered and quilted with raw canvas and steel screws. The screens transmit different recorded parts of an activity: the covering of the entire body, toes to chin, with standard size band aids. The audio component housed in the ceiling of the chamber is the amplified sound of the ripping off of the band aids while a voice intermittently sighs, swallows, and gasps.
